Permission to pause.

You might or might not remember our last newsletter from late May, talking about the overwhelm we felt when we started our trip to Berlin.
And some of you might have made it to Europe in the meantime and experienced the absolutely out-of-control airport situations themselves, or, just like us, finally got hit with a wave of Covid at the worst time possible. Either way, life gets chaotic at times, and we all know that.

To us, it felt important to give ourselves the permission to pause. And I hope you will do the same.

Whether it’s a general sense of overwhelm due to the continuation of shit news we all get hit with on a daily basis or anything that we experienced on our trip. Sometimes it’s important to remember why we went into business for ourselves, to begin with, and get off that hamster wheel and take stock. Look at what you do on a regular basis and for what reasons and then evaluate how good that feels in your body. And if you are just doing it because someone said that’s how you are supposed to do business, simply stop. And feel into what you think is right. What you believe. What resonates with you and why.

Do newsletters really need to be weekly? And Instagram posts, or LinkedIn or Tiktok, or whatever the hell your jam is? Shouldn’t we instead just speak when we feel called to do so? When we have something to say, or at least enjoy saying something?
Well, we think so. And we hope you didn’t mind getting a break from our musings to (hopefully) enjoy your summer. We are back in Kauai, and as contradictory as that sounds, fully reemerged into work mode. But that’s the beauty of it, after all.

Work mode is what you make of it.

And we decided that it needs to be an honest and vulnerable funnel of what stirs our hearts. To us, that means more personal projects, where we get to create freely and address what truly matters to us. And more client work, where it feels just the same - like a beautiful collaboration of like-minded individuals creating something meaningful in the world. Something that matters so much, that they can’t keep it to themselves any longer.
If that speaks to you as well we’d love to hear about it.

Much Love, Tim & Lisa
